Eckert Seamans Cherin and Mellott, LLC, a full-service national law firm, is pleased to announce that Harold F. Balk has joined the firm as the Director of Business Development, effective July 19, 2010. He will be based in the firm’s Pittsburgh, PA office, but will spend considerable time in all Eckert Seamans’ offices. Mr. Balk joins the firm from Reed Smith, where he performed a variety of business development tasks over the last eight years.

In addition to his role as business development manager, Mr. Balk’s previous marketing roles include writing and producing print, radio and television advertising campaigns for Pittsburgh Brewing Company and serving as a National Account Executive of Broadcasting & Promotions for the Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Club, where he was responsible for media, broadcasting rights, promotions and on-air production of Pirates baseball. He also worked as a law assistant to the in-house counsel of PrintCafe.Com, was the co-owner/operator of Color Me Mine, a paint-your-own ceramic studio in Western Pennsylvania, and was previously an account executive with KDKA Radio.
Mr. Balk earned his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law, and B.A. from Bethany College.
